The new Hyundai BAYON is revealed ahead of its 26 October launch. See features, engine and expected price, and pre-book at Lakshmi Hyundai Bangalore.
Bangalore, Hyundai’s newest SUV is here. The India-spec Hyundai BAYON was unveiled on 12 October 2026 and launches on 26 October 2026. Pre-bookings are now open at Lakshmi Hyundai Bangalore.
The BAYON sits between the VENUE and the CRETA. It is built for buyers who want a properly equipped SUV without stepping up to the CRETA.
The BAYON is Hyundai’s first car in India with a generative AI voice assistant, powered by Perplexity and SoundHound AI. Talk to it naturally to set navigation, change the climate or ask questions on the go. Navigation is NVIDIA-powered, shown across twin 12.3-inch screens.
For a city that lives on its phone, you also get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger and connected-car features.
Stop-and-go runs on Outer Ring Road, Silk Board and Hosur Road are where the BAYON’s CVT automatic shines. There’s no clutch to work, just smooth progress. The 1.5-litre petrol engine (about 115 PS) is also offered with a 6-speed manual.
Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera help in tight lanes and basement parking in Whitefield, Koramangala or Indiranagar.
Heading to Nandi Hills, Mysuru or Coorg? The BAYON’s roughly 411-litre boot takes the family’s bags. Ventilated front seats, rear AC vents and an 8-speaker Bose system keep the drive comfortable.
The BAYON looks sharp from every angle. Up front, slim inverted-L LED daytime running lamps are joined by a piano-black strip, with LED headlamps tucked at the edges of a bold grille. A sculpted bonnet flows into a sharp nose, while a chunky skid plate adds a rugged touch.
From the side, blacked-out pillars create a floating-roof effect, and muscular wheel arches house up to 17-inch dual-tone alloys. At the back, the tail lamps repeat the inverted-L theme, joined by a thin black strip. Add a roof spoiler and shark-fin antenna, and the BAYON will turn heads from MG Road to Electronic City.
Step inside and you’ll find a black-and-white dual-tone cabin with white leatherette seats. The dashboard takes its design cues from Hyundai’s latest global models, with vertical AC vents and a sculpted centre section. The new steering wheel carries Hyundai’s “4 dot” design.
Soft-touch padding on the steering wheel, gear knob and armrests makes long commutes more pleasant. Every seat gets an adjustable headrest, and the twin 12.3-inch screens sit together in one curved panel, giving the cabin a clean, tech-forward feel that suits Bangalore’s young professionals.
Every BAYON gets 6 airbags as standard, plus electronic stability control. Higher variants add Level 2 ADAS.
• 1.5-litre petrol, 6-speed manual or CVT
• Twin 12.3-inch screens with generative AI assistant
• Bose audio, ventilated seats, sunroof
• 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera
• Expected price: about ?10–17.5 lakh ex-showroom (official prices on 26 October)
Many Bangalore buyers find the VENUE a little compact and the CRETA more than they need. The BAYON sits right between them. You get a mature SUV stance, a roomy cabin for five and features usually seen in bigger cars, at a price expected to start lower than the CRETA.
It’s a strong choice for first-time SUV buyers, young families moving up from a hatchback, and IT professionals who want the latest tech in their daily drive.
