How Hyderabad’s heat, monsoon floods and ORR driving affect your Hyundai, what each service covers, warranty rules, and where Lakshmi Hyundai’s 12 service centres are.
A Hyundai service center in Hyderabad handles scheduled maintenance, repairs, body and paint, AC service and EV checks with Hyundai Genuine Parts. Hyderabad’s summer heat, monsoon flooding and long Outer Ring Road drives mean you should pay special attention to the AC, cooling system, battery, brakes and tyres. Lakshmi Hyundai has 12 service centres across the city.
Every city is hard on cars in its own way. In Hyderabad, three things stand out:
• Summer heat. Temperatures often cross 40°C in April and May. Heat shortens battery life, makes the AC work harder, stresses the cooling system and raises tyre pressure.
• Monsoon flooding. Heavy rain can flood underpasses and low-lying roads within minutes. Water can enter the engine, damage electricals and rust the underbody.
• Mixed driving. Many owners combine slow city traffic with fast Outer Ring Road stretches. That mix wears brakes and tyres quickly and puts engines through wide temperature swings.
• Free services: Available in the first year for new cars. Labour is free; consumables may be charged.
• Periodic maintenance: Scheduled services based on kilometres or time, whichever comes first.
• Running repairs: For noises, warning lights or worn parts.
• Accidental repairs: Body and paint work, often through insurance.
Your owner’s manual lists the exact intervals and what is due at each one.
A typical periodic service includes engine oil and filter replacement, air and AC cabin filter checks, brake inspection, fluid top-ups, a battery test, suspension and tyre checks, a diagnostic scan and a road test. Higher-mileage services add items such as spark plugs, coolant and brake fluid replacement.
• Summer (March to June): Check AC gas and cooling, coolant level, battery health, and tyre pressure. Park in the shade where possible and use a sunshade.
• Monsoon (June to October): Replace worn wipers, check brake pads, tyre tread and headlamps, and inspect door seals. After driving through water, get the underbody and electricals checked.
• Winter (November to February): Check the battery and lights for foggy mornings, and get a full service before long holiday trips.
1. Do not start the engine if water has reached the doors or entered the cabin. Starting it can draw water into the engine and cause severe damage.
2. Switch off and disconnect the battery if you can do so safely.
3. Call for towing to an authorised service centre.
4. Inform your insurer as soon as possible. An engine protection add-on is especially useful in Hyderabad.
5. Take photos of the car and the water level for your claim.
Authorised centres use Hyundai Genuine Parts, trained technicians and Hyundai diagnostic tools. Servicing on schedule at an authorised centre protects your warranty and builds a digital service record that supports resale value. Technicians are also trained on Hyundai’s automatic gearboxes and electric models.
Your estimate should list labour, parts, consumables and taxes separately. Ask the advisor to call you before any work not on the estimate, and ask to see replaced parts at pick-up. If a quote seems high, ask which items are essential now and which can wait.

• The AC takes longer to cool, or blows warm air
• The temperature gauge rises higher than usual
• The engine is slow to start, especially after the car stands in the sun
• Brakes squeal, grind or feel soft
• The car pulls to one side or the steering vibrates
• Any warning light stays on
Heat, not cold, is the biggest enemy of car batteries. High temperatures speed up the chemical reactions inside a battery and evaporate its fluid, which shortens its life. In Hyderabad, a battery may need replacing sooner than the typical lifespan quoted elsewhere.
To get the most from your battery:
• Park in the shade or a covered parking spot where possible.
• Avoid leaving lights, the music system or the AC running with the engine off.
• Drive the car at least a few times a week; long idle periods drain the battery.
• Ask for a battery health test at every service, and before the summer starts.
Warning signs include slow cranking, dim headlights at idle and a battery warning light.
